We are offering Emergency Contraception (EC) over the counter for $35 to men and women over the age of 18.  No paperwork to complete.  We require picture ID with DOB.   If you are under 18 or have no picture ID, you may still receive Emergency Contraception at the same price, you will just need to complete some EASY paperwork.

  Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando (PPGO) recently hailed the decision by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve over-the-counter status for Plan B emergency contraception (EC) for women 18 and older.   Click here for full press release.

The ACLU of Florida recently has launched a website (www.pathproject.net) and a toll-free phone number (877-352-7284) that provides information to women under the age of 18 seeking an abortion.  The PATH (Providing Access for Teen Health) website explains the process if a minor cannot tell her parent or guardian.  Florida state law requires that a parent or guardian be notified 48 hours prior to an abortion procedure of anyone under the age of 18. 

In Orange County, our process for judicial waivers seems to be working smoothly by referring minors to the juvenile court.  In situations where the minor lives outside the 13 county area comprising the 5th appellate district or if the minor chooses not to go to court in Orange County,  the minor can call the toll-free phone number and every attempt will be made to find a pro-bono attorney to represent her in the county where she lives or chooses to go to court.  Also, the website contains valuable information for minors about the judicial bypass procedure. 

 We are fortunate in Florida to have this valuable resource.
